#4. There aren't many other opponents for Roman Reigns
While making Roman Reigns a heel champion was a brilliant move on WWE's part that opened up a new side to his character, it also comes at a time when there aren't many great opponents for The Tribal Chief. In fact, Friday Night SmackDown seems absolutely barren when it comes to babyface opponents at the moment.
Of course, the upcoming draft will probably fix this problem and establish a plethora of opponents for Roman Reigns in the future. Still, Jey Uso is an interesting place holder in the meantime. Furthermore, it allows Reign's heel character to generate more heat before moving on to bigger opponents.
In the end, Roman Reigns needs a stop-gap opponent and there really isn't anyone at that level right now. Then again, WWE could just put him up against The Fiend again, but that would likely cause the fan-favorite character to take another loss. That's probably why WWE chose to go with Jey Uso again instead.
