#3. Roman Reigns return hurts Retribution's momentum
WWE promised that we would never see it coming and it's pretty safe to say that no one saw the return of Roman Reigns coming at all. While it honestly was a nice surprise to see The Big Dog again after so long and raises a lot of interesting possibilities for the future, it came at the expense of Retribution.
Sure, WWE never exactly implied that Retribution would be a part of the SummerSlam, but one could imagine them playing some kind of role at the pay per view. Instead however, WWE decided to bring in Roman Reigns, which kind of took the momentum out of Retribution's reign of terror.
In the end, for Retribution to be teased throughout the night and then just not make an appearance was a little anti climatic. Furthermore, seeing Roman Reigns being used in a spot that Retribution deserved to be in just kind of leaves everything feeling a little incomplete at the moment.
