Sami Zayn might have been done with The Bloodline drama as soon as a few months ago. But after some big returns and shifts in dynamics, the angle pulled him back into its orbit.

After initially imploring Jey Uso to stay out of the drama due to how emotionally draining it was, Uso attempted to recruit Zayn after losing his Intercontinental title to Bron Breakker recently. Zayn reluctantly rejoined the fold, but his choice has been met with distrust and doubt from others.

Sami Zayn shouldn't have joined The Bloodline drama for the next five reasons:

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

#5. He's a RAW Superstar and the angle takes up time from both shows

Sami Zayn and Jey Uso are members of RAW's roster. Both remained on Monday nights following the 2024 WWE Draft this past spring.

RAW's runtime cut to two hours has deprived a bigger roster of stars the opportunity to be featured more regularly. Uncle Howdy only showed up via videos until the most recent episode of the red brand.

In turn, The Bloodline angle has spilled over to both shows to build toward WarGames. Many fans are probably fine with that, but it already takes up enough time on SmackDown.

#4. Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso didn't want him in the first place

One reason Sami Zayn should’ve stayed out of The Bloodline drama is that Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso don't trust him. They've made their stance abundantly clear judging from the interactions all three have had with each other.

They both blame him for past issues despite appearing to be more accountable now. Zayn has had to prove himself in the past constantly and now again in 2024. After "saving" Roman on SmackDown, he nodded in approval. Jimmy appears to simply tolerate his presence.

He's been the same person for the last two years. All that's changed between Reigns and The Bloodline is that a more menacing threat has assumed leadership of the group.

Roman and Jimmy aren't necessarily good guys, just the lesser of two evils. They're the ones who need to show they've changed across the board and not just because someone different is in charge.

#3. He moved on to success after leaving The Bloodline

Another reason Zayn should have stayed out of the drama is he re-established himself after leaving The Bloodline. He won the tag team titles with Kevin Owens and the Intercontinental Championship.

That win handed the dominant Gunther one of his major losses on the main roster. Zayn doesn’t need to get back into the family drama since he’s already stood on his own on the opposite brand.

Joining the fray again gives him something to do and a big appearance in Canada. Other than that, it's for nostalgia since the angle has been running for nearly four years.

#2. His relationships with Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens

Another reason he should’ve stayed out of The Bloodline saga is how it will affect his relationship with Kevin Owens. Zayn and Owens have been tied at the hip throughout their careers, especially in WWE.

They left things on good terms, but the dynamics greatly shifted once Roman Reigns returned as a conquering hero after losing at WrestleMania. Fans want to cheer for Roman, even though he hasn’t done much differently.

It’s only because Solo has proven to be the bigger threat over the last seven months. Owens has already turned on Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton because of their inability to explain their recent decisions.

How will Owens respond since Zayn eventually joined the enemy? Rollins saw the writing on the wall and had the good sense to decline another power trip for the Original Tribal Chief. He may change his tune now that Bronson Reed has joined Sikoa.

#1. Reliving an emotional rollercoaster

Zayn’s relationship with The Bloodline was one of him constantly having to prove himself. He had to jump through hoops just to prove his loyalty to Roman Reigns almost on a weekly basis. Why would he want to return to that?

Roman even forced him to fight and turn on Owens just to prove his loyalty. That fact was brought up when Zayn attempted to recruit Seth Rollins as the team's final member for the WarGames Match.

The emotional dread of those actions cannot have just faded away. Sami Zayn's agreeing to join the fray once again will only further take a toll on his mental psyche.
