#2 Fans like Roman Reigns when he isn't forced upon them
Roman Reigns came back on the road to WrestleMania 35 and defeated Drew McIntyre in a marquee match at the event. His triumphant return was capped off with WWE moving Reigns to the blue brand.
This was the best thing that could have happened to Reigns at that point in time. The move took the spotlight off him and gave Rollins a chance to shine as the top guy on Monday Night Raw.

Reigns has been holding his own on SmackDown Live and is getting good reactions regularly. It's clear as day here that replacing him with Rollins not only gave the latter a well-deserved top spot but also made Reigns a likable guy again.
The WWE Universe brought out the fact that that they are fine with Reigns as long as he isn't forced upon them as the top guy consistently.
#1 The pops Rollins was receiving couldn't be ignored
At WrestleMania 34, Seth Rollins defeated Finn Balor and The Miz to win the Intercontinental title. The next night on Raw, the pop that he received was deafening. It was a sign of things to come, as Rollins went on to give amazing performances every week, and the fans kept getting behind him.
Rollins' popularity couldn't be ignored by the time 2019 came around, and he won the Royal Rumble Match to get a shot at Brock Lesnar's Universal title. Unlike with Reigns, fans were strongly behind Rollins and genuinely wanted him to save them from Lesnar's "Reign of terror", which saw him rarely make an appearance on Raw.
The reactions to Rollins' Universal title wins at WrestleMania 35 and SummerSlam 2019 have proved that fans are completely fine with him being their top Champion.
