5 reasons why Shane McMahon should not be on Team SmackDown

Shane-O-Mac will once again captain team SmackDown

#2 Last year Shane was eliminated via TKO

Attempting to go Coast-to-Coast, McMahon is caught with a devastating Spear that forces him out of the match.
Shane can survive Helicopter crashes and 20-foot jumps from Hell in a Cell, but Reigns' spear is a different story

"You still got it!" chants are common in WWE, and Shane deserves all the praise fans bestow upon him for his work in the ring at his age, but he isn't as good as we may think he is. First of all his punches are an eyesore, but he is slowing down as he nears the half-century mark in his life, and you can see it in his signature Coast-to-Coast manoeuvre. While it is impressive that any man at any age can leap from one corner of the ring to another to deliver what is essentially a dropkick, Shane looks like he isn't making it all the way there these days as his feet barely brush his opponents.

On top of the limitations, to his in-ring work that comes with his age, his health must also be a concern. Out of Shane's four matches, he's had during his current run, only one match saw McMahon walk away on his own two feet. The other three saw him stretchered out of the arena, at WrestleMania 32 Shane leapt off the 20-foot Hell in a Cell structure and crash-landed through an announce table, a stunt that was copy and pasted into his 2017 Hell in a Cell match. Both times he has stretchered away after taking the pin.

In the 2016 traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series match, Shane was once again stretchered away, but this time it wasn't because of a premeditated death-defying stunt. Shane-O-Mac went to deliver his patented Coast-to-Coast to the Big Dog Roman Reigns.

As Shane leapt off the top rope, Reigns suddenly launched himself at the airborne commissioner, like collided with Shane like a missile, spearing him out of midair. Reigns brought Shane crashing back down to Earth with great force, causing the 47-year old McMahon to land awkwardly on the canvas.

When Reigns went to pin Shane and eliminate him from the match, Shane's shoulder popped up off the ground during what should have been the deciding 3-count. Unclear if Shane had kicked out or not, many fans and even the wrestlers themselves were confused as the referee began attending to a wide-eyed trembling Shane. Shane was carefully taken to the back as everyone held their breath. It was a scary incident and WWE should not be putting Shane in a position like that again.
