#2: 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt doesn't need a WWE title to solidify himself as a great babyface
In WWE, a standard babyface has one primary motive in mind, and that is to become the top champion on either WWE Monday Night RAW or SmackDown.
Some of the best storylines in WWE feature the 'chase' where a babyface climbs up to the top to dethrone a heel champion. Most babyfaces need to do that in order to stay relevant, but The Fiend belongs to a rare breed of WWE Superstars, who can flourish in non-title storylines better than anyone else on the roster.
Like Paul Heyman said on this week's SmackDown, Reigns upholds all the values that are required for a top champion, and The Fiend is more of an attraction rather than a proper top champion.
This doesn't mean Wyatt's evil alter-ego can't have a great title run, but the meaning of that statement was for a character rooted in storytelling to a huge extent, a world title simply creates more creative boundaries for a supernatural character like The Fiend.
So now that the Universal Championship is no longer the current storyline for The Fiend, he can finally have a more creative run as a babyface in a non-title storyline more than he could ever have as a heel champion.
