Since returning to WWE in April, Bobby Lashley has feuded with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns. However, all three of those rivalries are now over and he doesn’t have a clear opponent in sight for SummerSlam.
After being featured so prominently at Extreme Rules and on Monday Night Raw recently, one imagines that “The Dominator” will appear somewhere on the card, but a singles match against a heel like Baron Corbin or Elias would pale in comparison to a shot at the Universal Championship.
There are still three episodes of Raw before SummerSlam, which gives WWE enough time to build a short-term rivalry for Lashley, but a non-title feud would feel a lot less meaningful than anything he could potentially do with Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
