She might have been cheered at the time as well, but it is worth noting that Flair was her friend in the storyline, and she turned on her. By definition, this is a pure heel turn.

However, the positive reaction she got from the crowd made WWE push her as somewhat of an anti-hero who was fighting for her own rights. This gave more credibility to Lynch’s 'The Man' gimmick.
