Last week's episode of RAW saw the beginning of "Broken" Matt Hardy in the WWE. This was triggered by a clean loss to Bray Wyatt, after which he sat in the corner of the ring laughing and maniacally shouted "DELETE" repeatedly.
With the recent turn of events suggesting that Matt Hardy's broken character is finally coming to WWE, here is why Matt should become a member of the Wyatt Family.
#1 Bray Wyatt has always been better with a cult following him
Back in the glorious days of the Wyatt family, Wyatt had a cult following consisting of Luke Harper, Eric Rowan and Braun Strowman. Bray's character has always revolved around how he is the only one who sees the "truth of the world", and anyone who understands him becomes one of his "sheep". While Bray continues to portray this character, his cult has moved on.
Braun has become the best thing on RAW with his mammoth "Monster among Men" gimmick, and Harper and Rowan debuted their new gimmick as "The Bludgeon Brothers" on SmackDown Live two weeks back, squashing the Hype Bros twice in the last two weeks.
A cult leader needs a cult, don't you think?
#2 Jeff Hardy is currently out with an injury
The Charismatic Enigma is on the long road to recovery following a successful surgery to repair a torn right rotator cuff that he sustained during the Six-Pack Challenge on RAW a few months ago.
Current reports suggest that Jeff Hardy will be out for quite a while, with a possible return around the time of Wrestlemania.
Matt Hardy's WWE career has always peaked when he was part of a tag team, and while Jeff is not around, Wyatt can fill the gap.
#3 Raw needs a third big tag team
The current RAW tag team champions Sheamus and Cesaro have been feuding with Shield members Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose for quite a while now. While both the teams consist of four absolutely phenomenal wrestlers who deliver high-quality matches every time, be it in singles or in tag-team action, the feud has lost its heat over time and is quickly becoming stale.
The reason why this feud hasn't been able to stop is that there is no properly built tag team for the winners to move on to post this feud. Wyatt and Hardy are both big names and will provide a great feud for the tag team championships.
#4 It sets up a great storyline for Brother Nero
Since Matt is now Broken, a team with Wyatt sets up a great storyline for Jeff Hardy to return after Wrestlemania. He comes back only to find his broken brother has been brainwashed by Bray Wyatt, and he must warp into his Brother Nero avatar to bring Matt out of Bray's delusional worldview.
This will be a perfect setup to reunite Matt and Jeff in their Broken and Brother Nero avatars and give us a string of amazing matches involving Bray Wyatt and the two Hardys.
#5 A great tag title match at WrestleMania 34
As of now, the current plan for the RAW main event is Roman Reigns going against Brock Lesnar for the Universal title. That leaves the other two members of the Shield open for a different match.
Given they come out on top from the feud against Sheamus and Cesaro, a WrestleMania match for the tag team titles against the freshly formed team of Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy is an epic encounter to look forward to. All four of these men are big names in the WWE, and this guarantees them a nice storyline to have a solid spot on the card at the grandest stage of them all.
