5 Reasons why Brock Lesnar winning the MITB Ladder Match was the right move

The Beast is Mr. Money In The Bank
The Beast is Mr. Money In The Bank

What a way to end a sensational PPV. The show had had everything from unexpected title changes to unanticipated events. When Sami Zayn was seen hanging upside down backstage, the WWE Universe was very certain that Bray Wyatt or maybe another NXT call up would take Zayn's place in the coveted Men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Viewers were disappointed when nobody was announced to replace Zayn in the match. It wasn't like the match needed any more star power with Balor, Ali and Ricochet jumping off any platform they came across. When the crowd was invested in another underdog story coming to life in Ali just fingertips away from grabbing the briefcase, a very familiar sound hit the arena. Brock Lesnar returned, pushed Ali off the ladder and grabbed the briefcase.

Even though this move has garnered mixed reactions from fans across the globe, I feel this was the best way to end this match and here are five reasons why.

#5 Expect the unexpected

The WWE Universe constantly frets about WWE being too predictable and boring. Majority of the fans have been disappointed with the way WWE builds matches (AJ Styles vs Seth Rollins for example, from recent memory). This surprise of Brock Lesnar interrupting the match and solidifying a title shot for himself in the future brought in a surprise element to the PPV and to the WWE as a whole.

Nobody would have even imagined that Lesnar of all Superstars would show up at a PPV that isn't considered to be a part of the Big 4. The crowd went wild when Lesnar's music hit and it was very evident that the crowd was even more inested than before. These surprises give the audience in attendence value for its money and also creates intrigue for shows to come.

#4 Not much excitement in other competitors winning

Who could have really won this match?
Who could have really won this match?

All competitors in this match are credible opponents for the current champions in the industry but for some, it may be too early to hold the Universal or WWE Title. Considering how hot Rollins and Kingston are right now, them losing their championships would only hurt their run. In order to keep their run with the Titles intact, an opponent needed to be chosen who is well established and keeps the crowd coming back for more.

Finn Balor has the Intercontinental Championship to his name and having him win the briefcase would be too draggy and uneventful. Orton is a legend in his own right and has nothing to prove anymore. Ricochet, Andrade and Ali are all fresh in the WWE and them losing to either Rollins or Kingston would only cause a roadblock in their character development.

Corbin is a wonderful heel but he has been pushed to lose against a lot of Superstars. McIntyre vs Rollins would have been a match to watch but McIntyre doesn't really need the briefcase to consolidate his position in the roster.

Given the current scenario of the Champions, Lesnar challenging Rollins makes the most sense.

#3 Making Super ShowDown interesting

Will The Beast and Beast Slayer meet again?
Will The Beast and Beast Slayer meet again?

The Super ShowDown card has made the event one that you cannot miss. It has The Undertaker facing off against Goldberg, a 50 man battle royal, Triple H taking on Randy Orton and many more exciting matches. With Lesnar now holding the briefcase, he is entitled to cashing it in whenever he sees fit.

WWE's next event is in Jeddah and it is well known that Saudi Arabia is the market WWE is targetting. What better way to build the event there than creating excitement about whether or not The Beast will show up. Vince McMahon is a shrewd businessman and he knows what sells. Watching Lesnar in action is something fans around the world would pay money for.

This injection of Lesnar into the title picture is a well planned and thought through strategy adopted by the WWE. Only time will tell if the company will pull the trigger on this in less than a month.

#2 Lesnar can be a part-timer

When Brock Lesnar was the Universal Champion, everyone can unanimously agree that the problem was his part-time status. No matter what the result of the match between him and his competitor was, people would tune in just to watch him fight.

Like it or not, Lesnar is a crowd puller and with his hands on the briefcase, he doesn't need to constantly be present on every show. His presence would actually be of interest and add a sense of unpredictability to the show.

#1 Setting up a cliffhanger

What does The Beast have in mind?
What does The Beast have in mind?

The sudden inclusion of Brock Lesnar back into the WWE creates a lot of curiosity among fans. Everyone wants to know what's next for the Universal Championship.

Tell me you don't want to tune in to Raw tonight. After that impactful end to Money In The Bank, the WWE Universe is waiting to know what's next for Lesnar as well as Rollins. Will Lesnar make an appearance tonight? Will AJ Styles remain in the Title picture? Is WWE setting up a Triple Threat Match between Styles, Rollins and Lesnar?

Nobody knows these answers and that's exactly what WWE wants. This sets the tone for viewers to come back and tune in to Raw.
