5 reasons why Brock Lesnar won't wait too long to cash-in on Seth Rollins

Will Lesnar win the Universal Championship again?
Will Lesnar win the Universal Championship again?

Brock Lesnar has kept us waiting ever since he won the Money in the Bank briefcase. He tried cashing-in his contract on Universal Champion Seth Rollins but the latter, being aware of this, countered it easily with a low-blow, which also helped him beat Lesnar at WrestleMania 35.

Paul Heyman later said that he and Lesnar aren’t going to reveal any details about the cash-in to anyone since it proved to be a bad strategy. And because of this, fans are excited to know when will the cash-in happen. Will Lesnar win the title or is WWE going to waste another Money in the Bank cash-in?

In this article, we take a look as to why Brock Lesnar wouldn’t waste a lot of time cashing-in his contract on Seth Rollins.

#5 The Beast couldn’t start another rivalry without cashing-in

Will Lesnar cash-in at SummerSlam 2019?

When Seth Rollins was Mr. Money in the Bank, he had a rivalry going on with Randy Orton. Yet he cashed-in his contract on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at the main event of WrestleMania 31. It was arguably the best cash-in ever.

But it doesn’t mean Lesnar would forget about Rollins and find a new rival. It doesn’t make sense. Lesnar is going after Rollins because he lost to him at ‘Mania 35. He wants his revenge and he would take that, sooner or later.

SummerSlam 2019 is coming closer day-by-day and if you noticed, it’s when Lesnar usually returns to WWE. This year, he doesn’t have someone to feud with, except Seth Rollins. Granted, there are many Superstars who could feud with Lesnar but where’s the why? Every feud starts for a reason and since Lesnar doesn’t have one, he would likely cash-in on Rollins during The Biggest Party of the Summer as it would then allow him to freely feud with any Superstar he wants.

#4 WWE doesn’t want us to forget he is holding the Money in the Bank briefcase

Keeping the WWE Universal Championship around his waist, Brock Lesnar didn’t benefit the title. He would make a one-off once in a while and would disappear for months. Not only was this wrong, but the title also suffered a lot.

Since its inception, a majority of fans have disliked the Universal Championship. Some had issues with its color, whereas some hated the idea of having another prominent title than the WWE Championship. And before things could improve, WWE handed the title to Lesnar. His previous two title reigns weren’t up to the mark but since Lesnar made many appearances this year, fans may not complain a lot about having a part-time champion.

If Lesnar stays off the WWE programming for a long time then fans would forget about his briefcase. They are interested in knowing when Lesnar would cash-in and keeping them waiting would only hurt WWE. After all, the wrestling fans, nowadays, have a much shorter attention span as compared to previous generations.

#3 & 2 To establish Brock Lesnar as the biggest heel in WWE and let him pass some torch to a Superstar at WrestleMania 36

Lesnar is rumored to retire at WrestleMania 36
Lesnar is rumored to retire at WrestleMania 36

Brock Lesnar is already receiving a ton of hate from the fans. First, he enraged us by winning the Universal Championship and now, Vince McMahon had handed him the Money in the Bank briefcase. If he successfully cashes-in his briefcase against Seth Rollins, then it would ensure that Lesnar receives a crazy amount of heat from the WWE Universe.

If Lesnar waits for some more months before cashing-in, then the fans may not hate him as much as they would do if he wins the title today. Rollins is enjoying his first-ever Universal Championship reign and if it comes to an end because of The Beast, then it would only anger a ton of fans. If Lesnar is going to retire next year, then this move could do wonders for a Superstar who would beat him for the title at WrestleMania 36 and assure he is retired.

#1 WWE is going to compete with AEW for ratings

The war is yet to begin
The war is yet to begin

The real war between WWE and AEW hasn’t started yet. AEW is yet to broadcast on TNT and fans are hoping that it provides better content than what WWE offers to us. So far, things have looked good for Tony Khan’s promotion but there’s a reason why WWE is at the top.

Fans often complain that Vince McMahon shouldn’t focus on part-time Superstars such as Brock Lesnar. But whenever these Superstars appear on WWE programming, ratings increase significantly. It proves that even though fans don’t want Lesnar to appear on WWE television, they still tune in to Raw whenever the former Universal Champion makes his return. We have already seen Lesnar many times on television this year than we did in recent times which indicates that there’s more of him to come.

“...I think you’re going to see more of Brock Lesnar in 2019 than you did in 2018. How much more? Again, why spoil the surprise?” (HT Sportskeeda for quotes)

If it’s going to happen then WWE would gain high ratings than AEW, which will air on TNT.
