Usually when a wrestler is wrestling in their hometown, particularly if it's in a title match, you can be damn sure that they're going to get absolutely embarrassed or squashed. However every now and then the WWE actually give the crowd something to cheer about.
That's why the decision was made to put the belt on Murphy in his hometown because WWE wanted the crowd to have that huge reaction, and they certainly didn't disappoint. In fact, the pop Murphy received for winning the belt might be one of the purest and loudest I've heard for quite some time!
