Even the most serious 'pro wrestling' fan that believes that comedy has no place in wrestling must have smiled from ear to ear based on Carmella's exploits with R-Truth. It was a very weird pairing when it happened but somehow it made all the sense in the world, as Carmella would climb on R-Truth's back as he ran across the arena to escape the people who wanted to capture his title.

Carmella even went on to win the 24/7 Championship on two occasions and even though she's been a former Money in the Bank winner and SmackDown Women's Champion, it is this run that really set her apart from the pack. She proved to the world and especially to her boss Vince McMahon that she can do just about anything, including comedy segments.
Because of how popular she became, it was only natural that she would be next in line for a title shot. One wonders if Mandy Rose could get the same kind of treatment because she's willing to do all those comedy segments with Otis.
