What you must remember is that Daniel Bryan became the WWE Champion only the week before Survivor Series 2018. Which means that his reign as WWE Champion is in its initial stages. He's transitioned beautifully into a heel character ever since then, and I just believe that there's more gas in his character for a longer run.

The WWE Championship has primarily been around AJ Styles' waist for the greater part of the last few years. Styles had some memorable feuds for sure, but somehow towards the end of his run, it just seemed that his character had grown stale. Daniel Bryan became the WWE Champion, winning with a low blow, and translated his real-life persona into a heel character.
Yes, the crowd wants Kofi Kingston to become Champion soon. But they may turn on him immediately afterwards as they've done to so many others.
