Drew McIntyre was red hot after his incredible Royal Rumble victory back in January. The way he toppled Brock Lesnar over the top rope after the Beast Incarnate dominating the early half of the Rumble by eliminating 13 Superstars from the match, it established McIntyre as a top Superstar on the roster.
Unfortunately, he has lost a lot of momentum in the last month. He wasn't booked to have a match at WWE Super ShowDown and just took out the likes of MVP, which honestly didn't help him much. Of course, the fans were still behind him but he needed a massive segment to jump back to the top of the proceedings, and tonight's face-off with Brock Lesnar was exactly that.

With him asserting his dominance over the WWE Champion by pretty much destroying him with three vicious Claymore kicks, he has gained all his lost momentum. With WrestleMania 36 coming closer with each passing day, this certainly helped him get in the mix of things and fans invested in this storyline.
