Finn Balor's time in NXT can serve two purposes, as it can elevate the Black and Gold Brand and also setup a long term game plan for his eventual return to the WWE main roster.

It remains to be seen for how long NXT will remain in its current two-hour form on USA Network, but should the show last at least two to three more years, Balor could be setting himself up for a long term move back to the WWE main roster.

At SummerSlam this year, The Fiend Bray Wyatt made quick work of Balor after it was reported that the former Universal Champion was scheduled to take some time off WWE TV after SummerSlam, so the PPV match was used to help establish and get over Wyatt's Fiend character which was relatively brand new at the time.

Finn Balor has seemingly ditched The Demon character on WWE TV, for reasons currently unknown, but if and when he does make his return to the main roster, a bout featuring The Fiend vs The Demon could be a dream WrestleMania match.
