Athlete vs Athlete. UFC Fighter vs UFC Fighter. Young Gun vs Veteran. The story writes itself. It's inconceivable to think any other point where this leads. He's made it clear that he wants to retire Brock Lesnar. He explains:

Oh yeah, retiring Brock... it's no secret. That's been the goal since I started wrestling, since the very beginning. I like to set goals that seem impossible. Only one person can retire Brock Lesnar, only one person can end his career, and that person's going to be me.

Brock Lesnar is not going to be around forever irrespective of how much Vince McMahon pays him and he needs to pass the torch before he leaves. A WWE Superstar who has the same pedigree as he does would be the way to do it.

Perhaps, we will get Goldberg vs Matt Riddle down the line. When that happens, it's going to be interesting how the story plays out.
