Why does Goldberg need to be the one to face The Fiend?

Goldberg addressed the WWE Universe this week on SmackDown and made it clear that while he would love to take on Brock Lesnar again, he was setting his sights set on winning back the Universal Title. Unfortunately for WWE however, they are seemingly having trouble coming up with any other reason for this match.

That being said, WWE usually does so much better than this when it comes to booking an upcoming feud for The Fiend. Who knows, maybe the company just needs something between now and WrestleMania 36, or maybe something fell through at the last minute, but there doesn't seem to be a strong storyline behind this.

In all honesty, WWE had a lot of better options for The Fiend going forward and it's disappointing to see him in a stop gap feud. It is also disappointing to see Goldberg suddenly wanting a title match that he lost years ago, and the company booking it so easily.
