WWE has announced that the next time fans will see Goldberg on TV is at the upcoming SmackDown Live 20th anniversary show taking place on October 4th. The event also marks SmackDown Live's first broadcast on FOX Sports, meaning the show will be heavily hyped, and will likely draw a big viewership number for the blue brand.
The SmackDown 20th anniversary show would be an ideal time for Goldberg and Matt Riddle to have some type of interaction, although a singles match at the show would be a mistake.
Ideally, Goldberg could make an appearance at the SmackDown event and cut a promo on his time spent in WWE, only to be interrupted by Matt Riddle. The two talents could then trade some shots on the mic before getting mildly physical in the ring.
This could lead to a pair of top heels hitting the ring and attacking both Goldberg and Riddle, which could set up some type of tag team match down the line.
If the idea is for Goldberg to spend as little time in the ring as possible if and when he next competes, a tag team match partnering up with Matt Riddle is the best direction in which to travel.
