John Morrison is a former Impact Wrestling World Champion

John Morrison has been a World Champion in three different promotions - Impact Wrestling, AAA, and Lucha Underground. He's officially a 3-time World Champion outside of WWE and he knows that virtually everywhere he goes, he's almost guaranteed a World Championship push.

In WWE, however, that's not the case. He has never been a World Champion there and during his last run, his ceiling was the Intercontinental Championship, which he won on three separate occasions. Morrison still wrestles at the highest level and knows that trying to become a World Champion in WWE would be a huge challenge, one that many wouldn't count on him to succeed.

In that sense, Morrison may want a lot more out of this run than to be the veteran that puts younger talent over. If he does well, he could be like Rey Mysterio - returning after years and coming back as an even more polished in-ring performer.
