5 reasons why King Corbin vs The Fiend for the Universal Championship is not a terrible idea

#3 Good filler feud

King Corbin

Like it or not, Baron Corbin is one of SmackDown's top stars right now. He's easily in the top 10 in terms of kayfabe credibility, and maybe even in the top 5. After all, he is in the main event.

If they aren't going to put the Universal Championship in the Elimination Chamber this year (which would be a shame; it has never been defended in the Chamber), then who can face Bray Wyatt?

Names like Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns can be tossed around, and each is feasible. However, it seems Strowman is on a collision course with the Intercontinental Championship. For Reigns, it feels like he's bound for WrestleMania.

There's the returning Sheamus, and while that would probably be a great match, The Celtic Warrior just came back from a hiatus, so maybe he needs to pick up a few wins.

Corbin is credible, and he can lose and not be too badly affected. Corbin can talk a lot of trash and lose because that's the kind of person he is. He can lose decisively to the Fiend and still bounce back and be a pain in the upper to mid-card. He's got that kind of role.
