5 reasons why Kofi Kingston should face Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania 35

Kofi Kingston produced a performance of a lifetime at Smackdown Live this week. One of the most decorated superstars in WWE today, Kofi Kingston produced an hour-long marathon, in which he defeated Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy and Samoa Joe!

Kofi Kingston has always been the bridesmaid but never the bride. He has remained the highlight of Rumble matches for almost ten years now. He has won all incarnations of the tag team championships and became the longest reigning tag champ along with Xavier Woods and Big E.

Kofi Kingston was a last-minute addition to the Gauntlet Match and the subsequent Chamber Match on Sunday. His performance was surely a noteworthy event from this week's Smackdown Live and WWE must ensure it does not go to waste.

Rollins' rejuvenation as a babyface started with Gauntlet Match last year. Could Kofi follow the same path this year?

#5 One of the workhorses of WWE for 11 years!

WWE's workhorse

Seeing Kofi Kingston's condition, AJ Styles begged him to leave the ring and go home. However, Kofi Kingston got all fired up and said he wanted to fight, he has waited for this moment for eleven long years.

Kofi Kingston is one of the few remaining members of the Ruthless Aggression Era, along with the likes of Miz, Zack Ryder, etc.

Kofi Kingston is one of the top talents in WWE, and has performed at the highest level for over 10 years now. He has been in tag teams with all kinds of partners, right from Evan Bourne to CM Punk to R-Truth!

Kofi Kingston has been a true workhorse for WWE, and his efforts should have been rewarded a long time ago. His 2009 feud with Randy Orton should have resulted in him capturing the WWE Championship, but WWE missed a major moment at that time.

#4 Where are the faces?

The two best babyfaces on Smackdown Live?
The two best babyfaces on Smackdown Live?

While RAW has several credible babyfaces with Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Kurt Angle, etc, Smackdown is lacking sorely in this aspect. AJ Styles just finished a feud with Daniel Bryan, Mustafa Ali is still relatively new to the roster, while Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio are in the twilight of their careers.

New Day's tremendous popularity with the audiences worldwide and their natural charisma makes them a viable candidate to fill the babyface role. Kofi Kingston has been a top babyface for years now, and his popularity knows no bounds.

WWE will like to shake things up during the Shakeup and fill the roster with more babyfaces, but until then, Kofi Kingston remains the perfect candidate to contest in the WWE Championship match.

Likeable superstars such as Kofi Kingston are far and few in WWE currently.

#3 The Perfect Opposites

What does the New Daniel Bryan think about the wastage of food every day?
What does the New Daniel Bryan think about the wastage of food every day?

Daniel Bryan's heel turn led to a change in character for the WWE Champion. He started referring to himself as the Planet's Champion and became a hardcore environmental conversationalist.

New Day is everything Daniel Bryan stands against in his speeches. Bryan wants a world where people respect the resources, while New Day are the happy-go-lucky unit, wasting food in the name of entertainment.

WWE struggles to build excellent feuds, but this one writes itself. The promo battles between Daniel Bryan and New Day will be a thing of beauty, and the fans will be in for a treat.

WWE does not need to do anything and simply let these four individuals do what they do best. These two groups are polar opposites of each other, and them coming together will surely ignite some fireworks!

#2 Popularity

If you are Vince McMahon, you want your best guys and the most popular ones to headline Wrestlemania. WWE Championship is the most prestigious title in the whole of sports entertainment, and a Wrestlemania match for the same shouldn't be headlined by someone like Mojo Rawley.

New Day started off with a dead gimmick and slowly won the audiences with their insane charisma and in-ring work. They have consistently stayed on top of WWE's popularity ladder and their merchandise sells like hot pancakes.

It is hard to find a babyface superstar or stable who can remain fresh in the same gimmick for almost five years. Most superstars either get stale or run out of good content to keep their character interesting.

New Day have managed to do that with ease, and have captivated the audiences worldwide.

#1 The New Day v The Bryan Family

The New Wyatt Family?
The New Wyatt Family?

Rowan is termed as Bryan's insurance policy. Rowan has rarely appeared in WWE without his former Wyatt Family brother, Luke Harper. Harper is scheduled to return to Smackdown Live very soon, and it could lead to the formation of a neo-Wyatt Family 2.0.

Bryan commanding Harper and Rowan could be a great faction and lead to some interesting developments. Big E and Xavier Woods in Kofi Kingston's corner while the former Bludgeon Brothers in Bryan's corner would be an interesting sight.

The addition of factions to such feuds gives it more depth and fleshes out the story much more. A three-man tag team match-up at Fastlane, followed by a Wrestlemania match between Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan would definitely make the WWE Universe happy!
