#4 An attempt to break the PG shackles
WWE has transitioned through many eras over decades and given fans a lot of interesting content to look back on. After years of remaining in the PG era, the company is currently going through what it calls the 'New Era'.
However, the content that is being shown is somewhat mild and not as extreme as we used to watch during the Ruthless Aggression Era and the time before that.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
With that in mind, the company has recently been seen as trying to break away from the PG shackles and ensure that the current era defines itself and is as different as possible.
With that in mind, we’ve seen the making of characters such as ‘The Fiend’, and matches that are much more hardcore than they were five years or so earlier.
The current Rusev-Lana-Lashley storyline is also like something that we used to watch a decade or so back, but with much more impact.
Adding Liv Morgan into the storyline at such an advanced stage as Lana’s lover allows WWE to add even more edginess to the angle and make it something fans will talk about for some time.
While we aren’t sure how Rusev and Morgan will play out in the weeks to come, and whether Morgan was telling the truth or not, it will be interesting to see how they can work together to put down Lana and Bobby Lashley in the weeks to come.
