This decision may have simply come down to the WWE's Apex Predator asking his long-time friend to take the loss, for a variety of reasons.

Whatever these exact reasons may be remain a mystery, but it's clear that Triple H was happy to oblige, giving his protege and friend another accolade on his Hall of Fame-worthy career.
