After defeating AJ Styles and turning heel, the new Daniel Bryan debuted his own custom WWE Championship, which was made of hemp, and he threw the original belt in the trash. The WWE Title has a storied history, and it is the most prestigious prize in the industry... Well, at least it was. Throwing it in the trash certainly did not help its perception.
After Kofi Kingston won it at WrestleMania 35, he couldn't return it to its former glory because he spent most of his career as a mid-carder and was involved in too many comedic acts with The New Day. Right now, one of the very few Superstars who can restore the belt's prestige is Randy Orton. Orton has held the title nine times, and it never felt less than a world title when he held it.
