Let's be honest here.
Ronda Rousey walking out on WWE after Stephanie McMahon refused to reinstate Becky Lynch was a brilliant move on the company's part. In fact, it amplified the first ever all women's main event at WrestleMania 35 in a way that nothing else could and blurred the line between reality and fiction in a very interesting way.
Beyond all that, it was the perfect way to further the storyline after the company seemingly let the angle go cold a week ago. Of course, WWE did some segments involving the two stars to keep the feud in people's mind, but it was the encounter seen on Monday Night Raw that really set this thing on fire!
With that being said and WWE really digging deep to make this storyline the main focus on the road to WrestleMania 35, here are five reasons why Ronda Rousey dropped the belt at Stephanie McMahon's feet and walked out on the company. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and tell us what you think will happen next.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5. Makes Ronda Rousey a babyface
Ronda Rousey hasn't had the easiest road to WrestleMania 35, but WWE just made things a lot better by having her walk out on the company. In fact, between the move fitting in perfectly with her mentality and making her a martyr in the women's division, the company might have found the best way to keep fans behind her going forward.
In all honesty, it was probably either this or have her turn her heel and the company definitely made the better decision here. In the end, Rousey was floundering as a babyface and still is to some point, but having her martyr herself for the well being of the women's division, will definitely endear her to fans even more.
#4. Generates mainstream buzz
Ronda Rousey walking out on WWE is a big deal.
Of course, you're probably screaming in your head that its all for show and that she will be back, but what happens in the meantime? Fortunately for the WWE, the answer to that question is to sit back, relax and watch the mainstream press cover Rousey walking out on her title match at WrestleMania in order to get Lynch reinstated.
Think about it! Rousey is a mainstream figure herself and while WWE really isn't, at least not in the same way, this with help will help change that. In fact, with all the buzz WWE generates from this in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 35, WWE might have the most watched Mania main event of all time on their hands.
In the end, this is what the WWE needs and they executed it perfectly in a way that parted the seas of reality and fiction. This is the beginning of something really big and everyone better stop what they are doing and take notice!
#3. Puts the Women's revolution in focus
Another interesting thing WWE did on Monday Night was to put the Women's revolution and its progress at the forefront of the feud between Rousey and Lynch. In fact, Rousey outrightly refusing to defend the title unless it is shown more respect and not just made into a prop, adds a level of legitimacy to the red belt that nothing else could
Keep in mind, this is a mainstream legitimate athlete refusing to defend a WWE title unless they put her up against legitimate competition. With that being said, this is an extraordinary move on WWE's part and really did a lot to make the Women's revolution the focal point once again heading into Mania.
Of course, some fans might have a problem with that, especially since some in the WWE Universe still see the women's division as an excuse for a piss break, but they have really become so much more than that. Furthermore, they deserve this spotlight and have proven that they can run with it better than what most of the men can.
#2. Blurs the line between fiction and reality
If nothing else, Ronda Rousey laying the belt down and walking out on WWE was the perfect blend of reality and fiction. Beyond that, it leaves the status of the Raw Women's title match at WrestleMania 35 in question and creates a lot of ambiguity around what is rumored to be the main event match.
Of course, it's obvious that the match will eventually be back on, but how they exactly get to that conclusion is what will be interesting to watch. In fact, with strong personalities like Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and Vince McMahon all in the mix, this is going to be one of the most explosive roads to WrestleMania ever.
In the end, sit back, relax and try to enjoy this one. Its probably going to be one of the best storylines the company has ever done and will definitely go down in history as the first ever all Women's main event at WrestleMania 35.
#1. Forces Vince McMahon to make a decision
Vince McMahon is the man and makes all the tough decisions, but is he ready to make a decision of this magnitude? Beyond that, can he put his ego and what he thinks of Becky Lynch aside and put her back in the Raw Women's title match? Or, will he ruin what could be the biggest moment in the history of the Women's revolution?
If nothing else, Rousey made it personal by walking on WWE, during the Road To WrestleMania 35, and McMahon is now forced to respond to what has just unfolded. What that response is and what effect it has on the main event remains to be seen, but it's going to be interesting to see if McMahon can put his ego aside and do what's best for business.
Its also going to be interesting to see how far WWE is willing to go with this and what risks they will take in trying to make this the most talked about main event in Wrestlemania history.
