#1. SmackDown Live is moving to FOX
Perhaps the biggest reason why WWE is pulling out all the stops to increase TV ratings is because the company is just three months away from debuting SmackDown Live on FOX, and the beginning of a massive money deal between WWE and the network.
One of the ways WWE has attempted to fix the ratings issue is by enacting the Wildcard Rule, which has effectively ended the brand split. With talents now free to appear on both Raw and SmackDown Live, it's very possible the entire concept of the brand split will be out the window by the time SmackDown makes its move to FOX.

With reports indicating that Ronda Rousey wants to work with Paul Heyman on the Raw brand, the ending of the brand split can still allow Rousey to make appearances on SmackDown Live in order to help the show boost momentum and ratings when it transitions to FOX.
