With the completion of the first PPV of the year (Royal Rumble), WWE is officially on the road to WrestleMania. 'Mania season is when WWE pushes to showcase the most compelling storylines as fans from all over the globe tune-in. One option worth exploring is turning Ronda Rousey heel.

Ronda Rousey has taken WWE by storm since her arrival at last year's Royal Rumble event. Her debut match, a WrestleMania mixed tag team match against ‘The Authority’ garnered rave reviews while exceeding all expectations.

Since her debut match Ronda has competed at the top of the card; headlining PPV events and RAW countless times. With Lesnar being regularly absent, Rousey has been the top champion on RAW.

Top superstars stay fresh by elevating their performances and evolving their gimmicks. A Rousey heel turn would be an exciting change as we head towards WrestleMania.

#5 The pool of face talent is vastly deeper

With Superstars such as Asuka, Bayley, Becky, Charlotte, Naomi, Natalya, Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, Sasha Banks, top NXT talent, and more, the list of potential face opponents is endless. Even Alexa Bliss attempting to bend the rules would garner a positive reaction from the crowd.

Ronda being a heel would elevate perspective storylines for several women on the roster. Ronda is an unstoppable force who heads into each PPV as the clear favorite. These storylines would play out better if she were a heel, giving support to an unlikely challenger who could finally knock her off her throne.

The mouthwatering prospect of a battle between the four horsewomen of UFC and the four horsewomen of WWE would be much more evident with a heel Ronda as Baszler, Shafir, and Duke are already a heel stable down in NXT.

#4 Rousey's character is getting stale

The biggest and maybe only knock on Ronda since her arrival is her mic skills. The nature in which she talks about being a champion started very strongly. It was natural given her substantial championship reign in UFC. In recent weeks these repetitive promos and similar programs have stalled Rousey's character.

The WWE Universe has begun to turn on Ronda Rousey. The boo birds have come full circle, while chants of “Becky” echo throughout arenas. It would appear to be the appropriate time to breathe new life into the dried out character of Ronda Rousey. And nothing would do that quite like a heel turn.

Ronda being on the mic will still be a challenge. The last two weeks showed that she is not experienced enough in this type of environment. Raucous crowds have caused her to mess up words. Rousey's promo before the Bayley encounter from last week was a forgettable one.

Pairing Rousey with a manager for her heel turn would significantly help her. Having another talent talk for her would help Ronda better encapsulate the "HBIC" and "The Baddest Woman on the Planet" monikers by giving off the aura of a no-nonsense fighter.

#3 Being a heel will come naturally to Rousey

From her mannerisms to her matches, one can conclude that being a heel will come naturally to Ronda Rousey. When Rousey is yelling at her opponents, she is frightening. Unlike other superstars in the WWE, Rousey doesn't need to cheat or bend the rules to win.

Instead, she uses her daunting skillset to defeat her opponents. In the UFC, Ronda was an assassin. In the WWE, Ronda can again be an assassin.

Shayna Baszler has been successful doing a version of this in NXT. Giving The Baddest Woman on the Planet a chance to highlight her dark side will reflect a stark improvement on her character.

#2 It is best for business

Very soon Brock Lesnar will presumably be leaving WWE, and the company will be in the market for a new menacing heel who disrespects fans and taunts opponents. Ronda Rousey can seamlessly slide into this very same role.

Imagining all the ruthless aggression Ronda can inflict on her opponents is euphoric. She can do any number of things from blatant chokes to scraping eyes, to delivering cheap shots or using weapons. Ronda can even attack people backstage or interfere in other matches for the fun of it. The new Ronda Rousey would be so arrogant and cocky the WWE Universe would have no choice but to relentlessly boo her.

All in all, Ronda becoming a heel will be what is best for business. Giving Rousey a fresh direction while opening exciting new opportunities for the women's division.

#1 The Man is the face of the Women's Evolution

Becky Lynch has grabbed the brass ring and taken firm control of the spotlight as the most talked-about superstar in the business. With Becky's success, Ronda is not required to be the headliner of the women's evolution.

Last Sunday Becky accomplished a historic Royal Rumble win which gave her a championship opportunity with the opponent of her choice. The confrontation between Becky and Ronda the following night confirmed their match at WrestleMania. There is potential for this to be the events first ever match headlined by women.

History has shown that Vince McMahon loves the face vs. heel model. Odds are one of these women will make a full-turn as WrestleMania approaches. The overwhelming support that Becky receives during televised appearances is unparalleled, making it clear that Lynch is the favorite as the face in the Lynch-Rousey rivalry. Seeing Becky Lynch hand a heel Rousey her first singles loss at WrestleMania would bring the house down.
