Now, Sasha Banks is a heel and so is Bayley. For one to turn on the other would not have established either as a babyface, considering that it would be one heel betraying another.
This is a tricky situation that has to be booked in the correct manner so that the WWE Universe knows whom to root for when they get back in the arena. Of course, WWE has done many heel vs. heel matches in the past, but none of them have as much heat and as much passion from the crowd as matches where there are clearly defined heels and babyfaces.

John Cena and Bray Wyatt already confused us with the highly entertaining and enthralling Firefly Fun House match and the last thing that WWE would want at WrestleMania 36 is more confusion. No, a betrayal would not have established a clear babyface and a clear heel, which is why the decision was made backstage to have Sasha Banks help Bayley retain her Championship in her big title match.
