5 Reasons why Sasha Banks unexpectedly helped Bayley to retain her WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 36

#3 Lacey Evans is not ready to be Champion

One of the things that one must be cognizant of at all times is that when a babyface is pushed way too fast, the WWE Universe can rebel against WWE's creative process. We saw it with Roman Reigns when he was chosen to be Vince McMahon's golden boy and then we saw it with Seth Rollins too, soon after.

In fact, one can only hope and pray that WWE does not do the same with Drew McIntyre because the last thing you want is for the audience to turn on the face of the company. Lacey Evans is great, but her character of a Southern Belle is far too dated and I don't think it has the necessary edge to get over with the WWE Universe in 2020, in the same way as, say, Becky Lynch does.

So, if the match had ended with Sasha Banks betraying Bayley for Evans to become Champion, it would have probably been the wrong decision. Everything played out exactly in the manner that it should have.
