A storyline which has yet to be told in the WWE is the fact that Rollins has had ample opportunities at the WWE Universal Championship, but he has always come out short in every single of them.

The first time that Rollins competed for the right to win the title was when it was first introduced, as he had faced Finn Balor at Summerslam 2016 for the right to become the inaugural Universal Champion. But it was a match where Balor gained the win as this put a dent in Rollins' chances of being at the top again.

Rollins is a two time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, as well as being a two-time Intercontinental Champion as well. He has also held the United States Champion, and he is also a 4 time WWE Tag Team Champion- having held the Raw Tag Team Championships 3 times. He has also won the Money in the Bank- and The Architect is also the first ever winner of the NXT Championship.

There is no doubt in the fact that Rollins has done everything in the WWE, apart from winning the one title that has been eluding him into mega-star status. A 3-year chase for the Universal Championship needs to come to an end at Wrestlemania 35 as Rollins finally has to get his chance at winning the gold.
