#3 There are very few better choices

Outside of NXT, there are very few women WWE have built up in 2019 who seem lethal enough to even take down one of the champions on RAW or SmackDown.
Lacey Evans was heavily built by WWE late last year and in early 2019, but failed to make the impact that the company was looking for her to make. Asuka seems like the most threatening woman on RAW, but is likely heading toward a RAW Women’s Championship match with Becky Lynch at the event. Ember Moon could have been another great pick, but her rise was also watered down by the company, and she is currently injured and may not make it back in time for the Royal Rumble. Last but not least, Sasha Banks is one of the top competitors on the main roster, but has aligned herself with SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and it doesn’t seem like the company will change direction with her anytime soon.
With most of the threatening women out of the picture, Shayna Baszler currently looks like the lone top female talent who can be a legitimate threat to the champions of RAW and SmackDown. Winning the Royal Rumble will award her a ticket to challenge any Women’s Champion in WWE, and could prove to be the reason why she moves to RAW or SmackDown for good, as she is desperately needed by both brands.
