#2 Lack of babyface teams
While WWE should get due credit for their booking of The New Day, they haven't treated the whole tag team division that well. There aren't a lot of tag teams on WWE's roster, and given that Miz and Morrison had run through the entire division of the Blue brand, there were no realistic opponents left for the heel duo. I mean no offense to The Lucha House Party or The B-Team, but would they have been credible challengers for Miz and Morrison? The answer is a resounding no. A strong case can be made for Heavy Machinery as well, but we will talk about them later.
So, the most logical decision was to have The New Day win the tag team titles. The title change shakes up the dynamic of the Blue brand's tag division, allowing many heel groups like the Artist Collective as well as the Forgotten Sons to be involved in the title picture.
But why were The Usos not given the straps here, you ask? Well, here is the answer.
