WWE finally made it happen as The Shield were reunited on WWE RAW this past week, the go-home show of Fastlane. After much deliberating, and a "will they, won't they" situation, WWE pulled the trigger on The Shield reunion as Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns joined forces once again in WWE.

RAW kicked off with Reigns and Rollins, as The Big Dog convinced Rollins to bring the band back together, but had some difficulty in bringing Ambrose on their side once again. But after an attack by Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley on Rollins and Reigns, Ambrose came to his Shield brothers rescue, and The Shield reunion was complete.

But why did WWE reunite The Shield once again? Here are 5 reasons why The Shield reunited on WWE RAW:
#5 WrestleMania match for Reigns and Ambrose
We know for certain that Seth Rollins will face off against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35, after Rollins won the 2019 men's Royal Rumble match.
But, what about Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose? Whom will they face at WrestleMania?
Ambrose is set to leave the WWE in April, although we aren't sure yet if he will be wrestling at WrestleMania 35, which will be held on April 7, 2019.
Reigns, meanwhile, will most likely face Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 35 as I feel that McIntyre (out of Corbin, Lashley and McIntyre) is the likeliest of the three to face Reigns. The Shield reunion and their match against Corbin, Lashley and McIntyre at the Fastlane PPV will set up the feud.
Ambrose - if he does stay in the WWE till WrestleMania - could face off against Elias, the man who has attacked him over the last few weeks.
#4 To turn Seth Rollins heel
This is a prediction for some time way in the future, which may happen as there is room for just one of Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins at the top of the card in the WWE. Brock Lesnar's future in the WWE is uncertain, and it is quite likely that one of Rollins or Reigns will be the top guy on RAW.
WWE, it seems, will never turn Reigns heel (despite the boos that he gets) and with a lack of heels at the top end of the card, Rollins turning heel sometime in the future, by double-crossing and turning on Reigns will get him major heat despite being one of the fan favourites currently.
This may not happen after WrestleMania, but perhaps could happen later this year. But the foundation for this storyline had to be set with a Shield reunion.
#3 Future match between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns
Like I said in the previous page, Brock Lesnar's WWE future is uncertain following his potential future match in the UFC. With the Lesnar situation hanging by a thread, WWE could have a problem of not having enough top players fighting for the WWE Universal Championship.
We haven't seen a Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns match in a long time, and a match between the two could be one that fans could be very interested in.
#2 Convince Dean Ambrose to stay by working an angle with Rollins and Reigns
Dean Ambrose is set to quit the WWE in April and it seems that there have been no discussions between the WWE and him to turn that decision around.
A small minority that feels that Ambrose leaving could be a work by the WWE, and perhaps The Shield reunion could be used by WWE to work an angle to convince Ambrose to stay in the WWE.
#1 One final opportunity for a reunion
If Dean Ambrose is to leave the WWE in April, this Shield reunion is perhaps the last opportunity for the WWE to bring the band together.
The Shield have been one of the best factions in WWE history, and are hugely popular with the WWE Universe, and WWE would be foolish not to capitalise on their popularity for one last time.
With Roman Reigns' recent heroic return, the three standing together as one for a few more nights would send fans home with a smile on their face.
