The WWE 24/7 Championship has no meaning. It was just put in the middle of the ring by Mick Foley and then all the lower mid-carders ran towards it. By all accounts, even Mick Foley look disinterested in the segment.
The crowd booed when he unveiled the new championship and that started things badly. There was no energy and the crowd in the arena sure made that clear. Maybe, the sentiment will change over time.

#1 It's just a bad ratings booster

Back in the old days, the running joke in the television industry was that everyone knew a TV show was in trouble when they would introduce a kid into the mix to boost ratings. Similarly, that seems to be the case here with having the introduction of the WWE 24/7 Championship.
Having wrestlers do wacky things similar to a 3 stooges comedy may help ratings in the short term. But the act gets old after a while. If Vince McMahon continues in this path and Triple H unable to take the reins, it won't be great for the ratings in the long term.
