Despite WWE having a proper division for female superstars since 1998, female performers were either given the death spot on any wrestling show between two of the highest priority matches or were forced to participate in worthless and humiliating exhibition matches, barring a few Women's title matches.

This edition however, is turning out to be pretty good for the female superstars of the company. 'Mania 34 will be the first instance of two 1-on-1 contest featuring women wrestlers, with one being regarded as the biggest women's match in the history of pro wrestling.

As an icing on the cake, one of the baddest female athlete on the planet, Ronda Rousey, is involved in one of the highest billed matches on the card.

WWE has come a long way by giving female superstars the respect that they deserve. Long gone are the days when women were involved in nonsensical battle royals and tag team matches.

It won't be a surprise if Asuka vs Charlotte ends up as the match of the night in New Orleans.
