#3 The fall months
It's no secret that WWE takes a huge dip in ratings during the winter months of the year and that is exactly why the company needs to keep The Shield going for as long as possible. In fact, it is inconceivable that WWE would split up their most over faction in favour of almost anything else.
Another problem is why would WWE want to take a chance like that in the winter months of the year? Not only could it further kill the ratings if done at the wrong time, but it could also end up taking a very popular group that the fans love and splitting them up. If nothing else, that's going to cause a lot of resentment with The WWE Universe, which isn't good either.
