When you look towards famous wrestling cities, places like New York and Philadelphia are always brought into the discussion. However, Minneapolis deserves to have its name thrown into the hat when you consider that it was once the home base for American Wrestling Association also known as AWA.
The promotion was run by Verne Gagne from the 1960s all the way through to the early 90s, with people like Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura starting out their careers there. Plus, the area has created numerous superstars such as Mr Perfect, Rick Rude and even Chad Gable recently.
No matter where you look in Minneapolis you're guaranteed to find wrestling tidbits here and there, and it's time that the area is formally recognised for that. WrestleMania 35 - make it happen Vince.
