Drake Maverick almost seems uncomfortable in the role of a babyface GM. Maverick was at his creative best during his heel days in Impact Wrestling, and did a great job as Dixie Carter’s Chief of Staff.

His creative downfall in Impact Wrestling was when EC3 turned on him thus turning him babyface. He never regained the creative momentum he once had as a heel. It wasn’t long before Maverick returned to his more familiar and effective role as a heel in Impact Wrestling.

The longer Maverick remains a babyface in WWE, the better the chance that his character becomes stale with fans. Whether he is a GM, manager, or wrestler, Maverick is much better off playing the role of heel.
