Ronda Rousey's initial reaction to returning to WWE and winning the Women's Royal Rumble Match was one of indifference. Her appearance on RAW felt slightly off, as the former UFC megastar did not look happy to be there.

The Baddest Woman on the Planet came across as a heel, despite WWE portraying her as a babyface. That changed for SmackDown, where Rousey was more receptive to the fans. This was likely due to instructions that were given to her about her on-screen behavior, as reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

"People, when they saw her, it's like, 'Oh my god, she's being a heel.' No. That's just Ronda. Then they had to talk her out of, basically, going... these people are cheering you. You have to acknowledge them."

Ronda Rousey's bitterness stemmed from when WWE fans turned on her in the winter of 2018, preferring Becky Lynch and even Charlotte Flair over her. It remains to be seen if the positive response for Rousey is sustained until WrestleMania.
