WWE let go of several superstars who were once seen as the future of the industry

#1. ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt was too big to fail in WWE

Third-generation professional wrestler Bray Wyatt joined WWE in 2009. After a few false starts in the company, Wyatt formed the iconic Wyatt Family to get a big push in the company.

Along with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, Wyatt started to take over the NXT brand before moving to the main roster. Bray Wyatt and his accomplices had a good gimmick that helped them get over with the WWE Universe.

He won the WWE Championship once and also helped Braun Strowman get a headstart in his career. Bray Wyatt later introduced ‘The Fiend’ character which took the WWE Universe by storm.

Even though he won the Universal Championship twice, the creative team ultimately mismanaged his character and dragged him down. He remained poorly utilized for several months and lost too many matches.

Even though fans still had a lot of faith in Wyatt and his work, WWE released him from his contract in July 2021. His release was another major surprise for fans who did not expect a man like Bray Wyatt to be released from the company.

Rumors suggest that WWE had plans for the 3-time world champion for SummerSlam before his release. It will be interesting to see what’s next for The Eater of Worlds in the wrestling world.
