The WWE Universe is reminded on a weekly basis how The Miz has made the Intercontinental Championship relevant again – but he’s still one victory away from matching Chris Jericho’s long-standing record of nine reigns with the famous title.

Y2J first won the title in December 1999, defeating Chyna at Armageddon, and his most recent reign came to an end in June 2009 when he lost a mask vs. title match against Rey Mysterio at The Bash.

With The Miz guaranteed two opportunities at the IC title in the next couple of weeks (vs. Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe and Finn Balor at the Greatest Royal Rumble and vs. Rollins at Backlash), there’s a chance that Jericho’s record will soon be jointly held with “The A-Lister”.
