WWE released Emma in 2017, probably because of heat with WWE officials. It came as a shock to WWE fans, and this is what she said:

I was definitely surprised. I really enjoyed my match with Asuka at the pay-per-view, and that was the first singles match [on pay-per-view] that I had there. So I was definitely surprised when I found out, but it gave me almost like a launching pad to go out and wrestle for all these companies elsewhere.

Cody Rhodes' uncle is a WWE Hall of Famer. More details HERE.
Emma joined ROH in 2018 and continued working for them till the end of the year. She is currently on a hiatus due to multiple diseases and injuries but is expected to return soon. WWE could rehire Emma and repackage her with a new gimmick. She could become a mainstay on the women’s division, if given a better gimmick than what she had been given in the past.
