After not being able to do "The Battle of Spears" between Roman Reigns and Goldberg last year, WWE tried to do it at this year's WrestleMania with Reigns taking on WWE Hall of Famer Edge. It all started with The Rated-R Superstar winning the 2021 men's Royal Rumble match and choosing to face the Universal Champion at WrestleMania 37.

However, the match was later changed into a triple threat with Daniel Bryan entering the mix on the Road to WrestleMania 37. In the main event of Night Two of the pay-per-view, Roman Reigns defeated both Edge and Daniel Bryan to retain his title.

Edge has since been away from WWE TV but he is now being promoted to appear on the July 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, which will be the WWE's first show on their return to touring with live fans.

We might just see him restart his feud against Reigns, claiming that he never got his one-on-one match for the Universal Championship. This could lead to a title match between him and Roman Reigns in the main event of SummerSlam 2021.
