WWE No Mercy 2017: 5 Rumors you need to know

Ent

No Mercy 2017 is almost here and with two huge matches - Cena vs Reigns and Strowman vs Lesnar - headlining the card, I can't wait for it to start.

Apart from that, we have a 5-way Women's Championship match which includes the in-ring return of Bayley as well as the Intercontinental Championship match between The Miz and Jason Jordan. Without ado, let's get to the rumors.

5: Undertaker to return?

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Could the Deadman return?
Could the Deadman return?

We start off with the most far-fetched rumour of them all first. This rumour seems less than likely now, but a report from PWInsider a few weeks back stated that there was some chance that Undertaker could show up to cost John Cena his match with Roman Reigns to set up their Survivor Series match.

The rumours have died down quite a bit as the weeks have passed but if the rumoured Cena vs Undertaker match is to happen at Survivor Series, this is as good a chance to set it up as WWE will get. They can protect Cena in the loss as well, not that Cena needs any protecting.

4: Neville destroys Enzo

Will the 'King of the Cruserweights' destroy Enzo?

It’s no secret that Enzo Amore is one of the most unpopular guys in the WWE locker room. Matters came to a head a while ago when Roman Reigns apparently threw Enzo of the WWE tour bus.

It’s also no secret that Enzo is not the best inside the ropes and going up against someone as technically capable as Neville makes it one of the most one sided matches on paper in recent championship memory, albeit with the exception of James Ellsworth vs AJ Styles.

Expect Neville to make quick work of Enzo at No Mercy, possibly under 5 minutes.

3: Jason Jordan – New Intercontinental Champion or maybe not?

Will The Miz retain after all?
Will The Miz retain after all?

Jason Jordan’s hasn’t had much luck since he was revealed as Kurt Angle’s illegitimate son. He has often been booed by fans at shows despite being positioned as a babyface on the cusp of a massive push. Over the last few weeks, impressive performances against John Cena and Roman Reigns have helped turn the tide and Jordan will now face The Miz at No Mercy later tonight.

Jordan looked to have a good chance of leaving with the IC Championship according to early betting odds. However, a late shift in betting odds shows that Miz is now 4/7 favourite to retain. If the crowd turns on Jordan during the match and he still wins, it could get nasty later on. However, as one of the best heels in the business, if anyone can help get Jordan over, then it’s The Miz.

2: Future of the John Cena vs Roman Reigns program

Reigns vs Cena will be a classic
Reigns vs Cena will be a classic

According to Dave Meltzer, the result of the Cena vs Reigns match entirely depends on how long the program between then is. Some have speculated that this a feud to get Roman Reigns over so he can move on to his next opponent, Meltzer says that the rivalry between the two could last longer than a single match.

Meltzer speculated that Cena will be the babyface as far as fan reaction goes so if this match is a one and done, then Roman will obviously go over. However, if it is a longer rivalry, expect Cena to win.

1: The finish of Strowman vs Lesnar

Will Braun leave as the new champion?

It was heavily rumoured earlier in the week that Vince McMahon hadn’t made up his mind about the finish for Lesnar vs Strowman and that he would be making the decision late.

Bryan Alvarez had an interesting observation on Wrestling Observer Live:

“Basically, there are two times listed for the main event. That doesn't mean they're gonna mean they're gonna do a finish and have another match. Basically, Vince hasn't decided what to do yet or he has decided but he doesn't want anyone to know."

With two different runtimes for the match apparently set, we won’t know the finish till we actually see it.
