An interesting element of WWE has always been short matches. Usually, short matches refer to ones that last a couple of minutes, but some matches shocked the fans by lasting only a few seconds.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Giovanni Vinci made his much-awaited return. He was booked against Apollo Crews, and fans were waiting to see a power-packed match. However, as soon as the bell rang, Crews pinned Vinci. The match ended in approximately five seconds, leaving the former Imperium member in a state of shock. Fans would be astonished to hear that despite the short nature of the bout, it still does not feature in this list.
Here's a list of the five shortest matches in WWE history:

#5. Trish Stratus vs. Nidia for the Women's roster
WWE veterans Trish Stratus and Nidia were working for the Stamford-based promotion at the same time back in 2004. They entered the list of one of the shortest WWE matches on the July 5, 2004 edition of RAW.
During that time, Stratus was the WWE Women's Champion. Nidia defeated Holly Molly and Victoria in a Contract On A Pole Three Way Match to become the Number One Contender for the championship. However, Stratus attacked her right after the match ended and demanded the referee to sign for the bell.
She retained the championship within 3.8 seconds. Unfortunately, Nidia was released by the company on November 3, 2004.
#4. The Rock vs. Big Boss Man for the WWE Championship
The Stamford-based promotion conducted a tournament at Survivor Series 1998 for the WWE Championship. One of the matches was between The Rock and Big Boss Man.
The People's Champion defeated his opponent within 3.5 seconds, making it the shortest match at that time. He used a roll-up to secure the victory, and went all the way to win the tournament as well!
#3. Aliyah vs. Natalya
During the January 14, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown, Aliyah went up against Natalya. The former was a mere rookie while Natalya had tonnes of experience in the ring.
In a shocking twist, Aliyah defeated Natalya in 3.17 seconds. Unfortunately, she was released on September 21, 2023.
#2. Spike Dudley vs. William Regal
When a championship is on the line, fans don't expect the match to last only two seconds! However, the wrestling juggernaut pulled it off on the April 8, 2002, episode of RAW.
Dudley used brass knuckles to take out William Regal and pinned him to win the European Championship. All it took was two seconds, and Dudley found himself with gold!
#1. Jerry Lawler & Chris Jericho Vs. Tazz & Naked Mideon
On the September 4, 2000, episode of RAW Is War, something shocking happened. A tag team match finished in 1.8 seconds, a feat that is yet to be matched in WWE.
During the match, Mideon would be Tazz's partner. Naked Mideon entered the arena in an exposed state, which caused a distraction. Jerry Lawler used that window to roll up Tazz for the victory.
