The Hurt Business officially split last week on WWE Monday Night RAW. Bobby Lashley then took on Shelton Benjamin in a one-on-one match.
It's interesting to note that the split in The Hurt Business gained negative reactions backstage and was something that Bobby Lashley and MVP both lobbied to have changed before the actual show.
Vince McMahon pushed for the split to happen, which means that he obviously has a plan for all of the stars involved in the group moving forward. McMahon has been known to keep big returns under wraps and it could be that Lashley was told to target Benjamin because he's known to be the real-life best friend of Brock Lesnar.
The two men were once roommates in college and came through the ranks in WWE together. If Lesnar was to make his return without Paul Heyman as a different character, then aligning himself with Shelton Benjamin could be an interesting career move for him.
