Let’s set the SmackDown Women’s Championship aside. In fact, let’s assume that the WWE doesn’t book Carmella anywhere near the blue brand’s title picture. Moreover, let's assume that Carmella is also phased out of her long-running alliance with R-Truth.

In that context, the WWE would still have to acknowledge the fact that Carmella is one of the most-improved in-ring professional wrestling performers of this year. Honestly speaking, most of us would remember the absurd amount of criticism directed towards Carmella, for her in-ring skills or lack thereof during her run as the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

I must confess that I’ve never been one to criticize Carmella regarding her wrestling skills. In fact, I’ve always found ‘Mella to be one of the best athletes in the Women’s Division, given her impressive resume that includes dancing and cheerleading.

She has been known to masterfully utilize her excellent athletic background, and adapt those abilities to the pro wrestling sphere. Regardless, it’s only around the past few months that Carmella has taken her in-ring skills to the next level.

As noted, she has always been a great athlete, but with her skills now having ascended to the next level, the sky is the limit for this talented young woman.

Love her or hate her, one can’t deny that the lack of a good promo-cutting champion in the SmackDown Women’s Division, coupled with Carmella’s ever-improving professional wrestling arsenal, make her a prime contender in line to receive a huge push in the days to come.
