5 signs which prove Kevin Owens will be better as a face on WWE RAW than Seth Rollins

Over the past few months, it has been clear that Kevin Owens has been one of the most popular stars currently in WWE. The authorities also helped him as he was given a new finishing move and started hitting the Stunner, quite possibly the most babyface move of all time.

With Owens' popularity soaring, however, it should be noted that KO has always been an excellent heel. It seems as though he exudes being a heel such that at one time it was thought that Owens would never really be able to perform as a babyface again. This has clearly been proved to be false and his feud with Shane McMahon pushed him back into the limelight.

While his immense push as a face has not really been used by WWE at every point properly, the fact remains that Owens is an incredible face and has shown it. Despite that, often, the best characters do not really succeed in WWE.

In this article, we are going to be taking a look at 5 signs which prove that Kevin Owens will succeed as a face on WWE RAW and be better than Seth Rollins!

#5 Not enough faces

Drew McIntyre

WWE RAW is lacking in one major thing at the moment, and that's a likable main event-worthy babyface.

There's a definite lack of faces on the roster at the moment. If we take a look at the heels at the top level, however, there are quite a few. At this time, what's required, are faces who can take on these heels and have realistic feuds with them.

AJ Styles, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar are all top-level Superstars without a proper feud at the moment. In the long term, they need a convincing babyface Superstar to have a feud with. Kevin Owens is not only believable, he also has the crowd support and would be the perfect person to step into such a role.

#4 Seth Rollins is not a great success as 'The Guy'

Let's admit it. Seth Rollins is far from a success as 'The Guy' in WWE. Taking up the ball when Roman Reigns was diagnosed with cancer and came out about it on television since then he has tried to be the face of WWE.

Truthfully, Becky Lynch has been far more successful in that role than Rollins was. Given his abrasive personality displayed on social media, slowly but surely, he lost the wrestling following that he had gained due to several excellent matches over the past few years.

On the other side of things, Kevin Owens would be the perfect person to fill in that role. Now, with Rollins possibly turning heel, it may even be seen that Owens will do a better job as a face on WWE RAW than Rollins could have ever done. A feud between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins heading into the WWE Royal Rumble would make for great storytelling, as the two have quite the chemistry in the ring.

It's time for something fresh in the main event scene in WWE, and that's exactly what Owens is delivering.

#3 Kevin Owens' last face run was stopped too soon

When Kevin Owens finally returned to the ring earlier this year, he did so as a face. Since then, however, his run as a face was stopped and he turned into a heel with a vicious attack on The New Day. Coming back when he did, the plan for Owens was to be in the WWE Championship picture at WrestleMania.

However, KofiMania ran wild and WWE changed plans, leaving Owens in limbo. He appeared to join The New Day when Big E was injured and it could have been one of the best face runs in the company as it seemed that he was going to be having some fun with the faction.

However, with Daniel Bryan out of the picture, WWE was forced to pull the trigger on the heel run far too soon, leaving Owens looking not quite so good. While the ensuing matches with Kofi and The New Day were entertaining, the face run was something that could have been incredible. It is finally time for Owens to have a proper face run in the company now.

#2 'Stone Cold' Kevin Owens

For far too long now, the main guy on WWE has been a person that the management has pushed there whether they belong in that position or not. With backstage relationships among the management and individual Superstars being public knowledge now, it's more difficult for Superstars to be obviously supporting the management on one hand behind the scenes and be a 'rebel' outside.

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin was able to play the rebel to great success, as even though he was always very pro-WWE, he was able to be the person that spoke up when something was wrong about the way the company was doing things in kayfabe.

Kevin Owens has that same believability and his feud with Shane McMahon was absolutely incredible. The fact that Owens is ready for anything and everything and is always dedicated to whatever role he is playing in the company means that he can do what it takes to make this version of himself believable as well.

Playing a rebel underdog against a possible heel Seth Rollins would be an incredible storyline for KO.

#1 Ability to connect with the WWE Universe as well as the hardcore fans

One of the biggest factors at the moment in WWE is that a large part of their hardcore fanbase is also very pro-AEW, due to the fact that they cannot always relate to the people who WWE push.

Kevin Owens has more than established himself on the Independent Scene before coming to WWE. During his run in the company too, he has stayed true and his wrestling style has not changed. Often saying exactly what he thinks, not only has Owens been able to retain his hardcore fan following, he has also been able to build up a large fan following among the WWE Universe's more casual fans as well.

Owens is one of the most well-loved wrestlers and is often compared to some of the best to have ever entered a ring. While the job he can do as a heel is fantastic, he has also shown himself to be quite the face as well.
