#1 Rey Fenix (2020 record - 1-3; Career - 9-8)
Between Rey Fenix and brother Pentagon Jr., only the former has had a singles match under the AEW banner. When he squared off with Nick Jackson back in November, it was a great reminder that he is one of the best wrestlers in the world.
His brother is more the brawler and stiff striker but Fenix can pull of moves that regular stars shouldn't be able to accomplish. He's very similar to Ricochet in terms of athleticism and creativity atop the ropes.

While the Lucha Brothers are among the best tag teams in the world, their record thus far in AEW is only 8-8. A .500 record doesn't seem right for one of the best duos in the world. As mentioned on the first slide with Pentagon, Fenix was a huge part of the success of Lucha Underground.
All of his bouts showcased his athleticism and ability to put on great matches against stars of all sizes. Just look up his matches with Mil Muertes during one of the best feuds in the promotion.
Even Jim Ross - someone who has seen it all - mentions in his commentary how good Fenix is every time he's in a match on Dynamite. They guy just has "it" in the ring and needs to be pushed as a singles star. There's a reason why he and Kenny Omega feuded over the AAA Mega Championship.
He's simply that good in the ring. They could kick-start a singles run by having one brother turn on the other or just have them simply announce that they are both pursuing singles gold. However it is done, Rey Fenix needs to be hardly pushed atop AEW as one of its top stars.
